Common questions
What's the difference between backtest and walk-forward?
A backtest tests your strategy on past data — but it's easy to curve-fit (find a strategy that worked on history but fails live). Walk-forward divides history into in-sample (IS) and out-of-sample (OOS) windows; if the strategy holds up OOS, you get a ROBUST verdict. Most strategies that look great in backtest fail walk-forward. That's what we're built to expose.
What is a Strategy Monitor?
After you find a configuration that performs well in backtest, the Strategy Monitor tracks your exact configured strategy on live Binance data while your subscription is active. It logs every entry, TP hit, SL hit — so you can observe live behavior against your backtest expectations. Default target duration is 180 days, but it's user-adjustable (30-365). Forward-test duration is NOT a proxy for "ready to trade live" — sample size, regime variety, and your own risk assessment matter more than time elapsed.
How long should I forward-test before trading live?
There's no universal answer. It depends on your strategy's trade frequency, market regime variety during your test, and your own risk tolerance. A 1H strategy firing 100+ trades in 6 months gives more statistical confidence than a 4H strategy firing 20 trades in the same period. We don't tell you when you're ready — the platform gives you the data, you make the call.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Monthly subscriptions cancel anytime — you keep access until the end of your billing period. Annual subscriptions can also be cancelled; you keep access until your annual period ends. We don't refund mid-period but we don't trap you either.
Is this trading advice?
No. SMC ChartSense is a technology tool for self-directed traders to analyze and monitor their own strategy configurations. We don't provide signals, picks, or recommendations. We're not registered with SEBI as Research Analysts or Investment Advisers. All trading decisions are yours alone.
What pairs are supported?
Currently 20 USDT-M perpetual pairs from Binance (BTC, ETH, SOL, BNB, XRP, DOGE, ADA, LINK, AVAX, MATIC, DOT, ATOM, LTC, NEAR, OP, ARB, APT, SUI, FET, INJ). Across 4 timeframes (15m / 1H / 4H / 1D). More pairs added based on demand.
What payment methods do you accept?
Cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex), PayPal, and most regional payment methods via Gumroad. International users supported. Indian users can pay with INR cards.
